Blind assessment (as brewed in a Keurig B70 to produce a 6-ounce serving): The aroma is straightforward but complex with patience: slightly scorched oak, prune, vanilla, dark chocolate, a hint of flowers. Most aromatics fade in the cup, however; the wood turns piney pungent and the pruny chocolate is backgrounded. Muted acidity; very lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Some chocolate and sweetness survive in a heavy, drying finish. Who should drink it: Keurig owners who enjoy a bracingly dark-roasted cup.
